Battle of the Bands 2012

Congratulations to last years winners of Battle of the Bands

7 Bands took part in the Battle of the Bands. The klub ‘Tutors’ band started off the day with a few songs to get the crowd going and we had great entertainment from everyone involved.

Well done to all the bands who took part. They were:

IMPACT Waterford Academy
DENIED PAROLE Klub Muzik
SICKPOINT Klub Muzik
DEFAULT Klub Muzik
FEEDBACK Klub Muzik
LETS RUN TO THE PHILOSOPHERS Tipperary

We couldn’t have done it without the special support we received from Adrian Hanlon who loaned us equipment including drums and large speakers, O’Keefe Transport for the very generous loan of their 40ft truck and all the people who hired equipment at a low cost, and enjoyed by families, friends and visitors. A massive thank you to you all.

As the festival reached its 5th year we were looking to grow the festival and attract events that would appeal to all ages within the family market. We split the festival in to 2 weeks. The first week began with the launch on Friday 14th at Oceanics Surf  School with a Surf Art exhibition and the unveiling of Molly, our seaweed doll who was displayed at Oceanics for the week. The Ladies Surf Weekend also took place on the first weekend.

The second weekend was all about family fun with entertainment and stalls, including Skate Jam, the Market on Sunday and, of course, the Michaelmas Parade.

There was also plenty of entertainment, music and specials in the pubs and restaurants around Tramore during the week, and many local businesses took part.

There was the return of many of the events and exhibitions from last year such as surfing, eco walks, seaweed & coastal talks, skating, dog shows, food trails, markets, evening entertainment, art, history & photographic exhibitions and much much more. There was something for everyone and plenty of new entertainment.

Thanks to all the support we have had, the Surf and Sea festival has turned into a major annual event for Tramore town. We hope this year will be even bigger and better.
